BB and Breast Cancer Now

BB was delighted to be asked to attend a virtual meeting hosted by Breast Cancer Now, a charity that provides research and life-changing support for those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. A group of clinical nurses who specialise in supporting younger women were gathered to join the forum, as many of their patients are affected by infertility due to their treatment.

Our client manager Gemma talked about the UK legal position regarding surrogacy, embryo creation, finding a surrogate (both in the UK and the US) and the practical and emotional logistics of ensuring that everyone involved in the journey receives safe and ethically responsible support.

We also talked about how getting advice about surrogacy as early as possible will stand women in good stead for future family planning.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and practical experience of surrogacy. BB hopes that we have armed the amazing nurses who are providing such important care to young women with breast cancer with practical advice about how best to prepare their patients if surrogacy is something they need to consider in the future.

“Gemma, you spoke so eloquently about surrogacy and dispelled many of the myths associated with it”

Victoria Kessell, Clinical Nurse Specialist

We look forward to working together again.
