Helen at the International Surrogacy Forum in South Africa

The 3rd International Surrogacy Forum conference was held in Cape Town, South Africa on 24-25 March 2025, bringing together surrogacy researchers, advocates, attorneys and providers of professional services from around the globe.

Our founder Helen Prosser was delighted to be invited to the forum. Taking place in one of the most beautiful countries on the planet (and following previous conferences in Cambridge and Copenhagen), the ISF sought to explore the complexities of surrogacy practice around the globe, and reflected approaches as broad and contrasting as the number of nations attending. That said, the common ground of trying to harmonise the desire of parents to have a family with the rights and safety of surrogates to ensure babies are born in truth, openness and love, was abundantly clear.

It was wonderful to be a part of a group that brought together the hearts, as well as the incredible minds, of leaders in the field who work tirelessly to ensure ethical surrogacy flourishes around the world.

Our goal has never been stronger to enable safe and ethical surrogacy in the UK and to protect British intended parents who undertake surrogacy overseas.
