What a lovely listen this Radio 4 piece is from Matthew Syed, discussing how men, too, feel broody and harbour profound desires to become fathers. Though that’s no surprise to us – we have worked with single dads for many years, and know very well that the wish to be a parent can be profound and compelling, and also that it is a completely normal human desire, no matter what your gender or relationship status.

However, we have felt incredibly moved hearing Simon talking, with such tender honesty, about how much it meant to him to have a son through surrogacy in the US, after decades of wanting to be a dad and thinking it would never be possible, and how the love he feels for his son is unique and special.
